Field Maintenance

Australian Garlic Producers Pty Ltd (AGP) is proudly Australian-owned and the nation’s leading supplier of fresh garlic to the national market. We are seeking a hands-on Farm Hand / Field Maintenance Person to support our farm operations and ensure equipment reliability year-round.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you’ll carry out both preventative and breakdown maintenance on farm machinery and equipment, ensuring harvest and planting schedules are met. The role offers variety, with work split between outdoor farm activities and shed-based processing tasks, depending on the season. During peak harvest and planting, extended hours and travel away from home will be required, including assisting with pivot setup and helping to ensure harvesting is carried out correctly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out preventative maintenance on all farm equipment
• Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimise downtime
• Assist in machinery setup and provide support during harvest and planting, including but not limited to supervising staff and machinery operation to ensure
• Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and update maintenance records
• Assist in updating standard operating procedures
• Assisting with farm work and ground preparation, planting and harvesting.
• Report directly to the Farm Manager on maintenance activities and operational activities
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations at all times

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in farm machinery maintenance and repairs and operation
• Knowledge of farming and harvest processes
• Strong understanding of workplace health and safety regulations and GMP
• Physically fit with a practical, hands-on approach
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
• Willingness to work outdoors and travel seasonally as required
